In this video I covered all seven games I played at the Rabac Open in January – edit on the video: it’s not Rabac 2019, but 2020. These are Road to GM games 131-138.

It was the worst tournament I’ve ever played, and the toughest days of my chess β€œcareer” so far. I was weak psychologically and couldn’t cope with the bad results, bad pairings, and tough, underrated opponents. I lost 42 Elo points, more than I’d earned in December. The truth is that I should have lost even more. I went from 1911 in December, to 1935 in January, and 1893 after Rabac. That hurts because I thought I could reach 2000, my goal. Instead of that I finished worse than last year.

The next tournament I play starts on March 6th. I will prepare until then and be stronger mentally. I will never allow a tournament like this to happen again.
