ChessTerra.com (“ChessTerra”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a free chess video library and community operated by Haselton Media Group. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.

Forum and Comments
If you create an account or post in our community forum (powered by wpForo), we collect your username, email address, and any profile information you provide. This data is used to identify your posts and enable community participation. Your public username and posts are visible to other users.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you use it.
Cookies

If you log in, we set cookies to save your login information (lasting up to two weeks if you select “Remember Me”). If you leave a comment you may opt in to cookies that save your name and email for future comments, lasting one year. ChessTerra embeds chess videos from YouTube using the YouTube IFrame API. When you watch a video on ChessTerra, YouTube (operated by Google LLC) may set cookies and collect data about your viewing, including your IP address, device information, and interaction with the video player. This data is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy.
If you are logged into a Google or YouTube account while watching videos on ChessTerra, YouTube may associate your viewing activity with your Google account. We encourage you to review YouTube’s privacy controls at myaccount.google.com/privacycheckup.
4. Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data with:
- Service providers who help us operate the site (hosting, spam filtering via Akismet, analytics)
