In this video lesson, the RCA guest coach IM Asaf Givon analyzes one of the best attacking chess games every played. It’s a fairly short game played between Sergey Karjakin and Andrey Esipenko 2017 World Rapid Championship. What makes this highly instructive game great is that Esipenko, who was just 15-years old when this game was played, defeated one of the most resilient players in the world, Karjakin.

Another surprising element is that the Caro–Kann Defense, a more positional opening, was played, and yet the young Esipenko beat Karjakin in just 29 moves. Watch and learn from this beautiful attacking game!
