Blitz Chess Stifles Creative Ideas ~ Bobby Fischer

Bobby Fischer didn’t like blitz chess which according to him, stifles creative ideas. But even in blitz Fischer demonstrated sharp tactical skills and creative ideas. The following game is a nice example! In a game against Yugoslav grandmaster Milan Matulovic Fischer goes for Ruy Lopez and once Black answers with Schliemann defense, Fischer manages to get a very active piece play. Being well familiar with all odds and ends of the variation Fischer quickly manages to gain advantage by sacrificing a piece, after which his attack gets decisive very quickly! In the end by unleashing a king hunt Fischer announces a checkmate!
