Check out a great analysis by Thaddeus Samson:

Kamsky opens with the Queen’s Gambit as white, and Shulman elects to go into a variation that is somewhat drawish but tends to give white a small, lasting positional advantage. It seems that Shulman’s match strategy was to draw the first game as black, and win the second game with the white pieces. However, Kamsky is an exceptional positional player and literally makes a living off of small, positional advantages. He was able to turn the screws and make it look easy to defeat a very strong GM. Kamsky’s style is unique in that he can make solid grandmasters look planless and without strategy. A fine positional victory in classic Kamsky fashion. Following this win, Kamsky was able to draw the second game of the Finals to seal the Championship. Congratulations to GM Gata Kamsky on a great tournament win!
