Bird’s Opening is a Dutch in reverse. That means that white is a tempo up when compared to normal Dutch lines. I like it!

I like the Dutch with both colors, and the only reason I don’t play 1.f4 often is 1…e5, which leads to mad positions White can lose in a few moves. The Bird is a great opening with not many problematic variations apart from that. Perhaps I should learn 1…e5 against it.
