Anand PAWN STORMS Kramnik’s Sicilian, Godiva

This is a rapid chess game between Vishy Anand and Vladimir Kramnik from the 2001 Mainz CC Champions Duel Playoff. Anand pawn storms Kramnik out of an open Sicilian, Godiva variation. In an opposite sides castles game, the general idea is to open lines towards the enemy king. Anand’s pawn play on the kingside is especially instructive. One misstep by Kramnik allowed Anand to turn the tables.
