Chess endgames are all about schematic thinking and creating long-term plans. To do that, you need to be aware of all the weaknesses in the position, possible targets and lines of attack, as well as which pieces should be traded off for the biggest possible edge.
This endgame was a pretty clean example of identifying and targeting key weaknesses and slowly building your advantage until the opponent’s position is no longer playable and something falls.
