Opposite side castling attack in the Caro-Kann · Training Game

Typical advance Caro-Kann attacking madness which happens when there’s opposite side castling. Black tries to attack on the kingside, white on the queenside, and, whoever’s quicker wins.

I played a mistake typical for these positions, at least for me. I moved my rook to the g-file and tried to open it up by force, which was a waste of time. That is something I keep doing again and again. After that, my opponent played beautifully and simply overran me with precise attacking play and several tactics which forced a winning liquidation for him.
