Strategy in the Exchange Caro-Kann · Road to GM, Game 258

The exchange Caro-Kann is an opening rich in strategic and attacking ideas, with both players having clear plans with hundreds of example games already played.

I faced a lower rated opponent in round 1 of the Vrsar Open. He went into the exchange against my Caro-Kann, which is a great choice, since it usually leads to fairly balanced positions. I managed to create a weakness late on in the endgame and win based solely on it.
