While anticipating the World Chess Championship Match 2021 between Magnus Carlsen and Ian Nepomniachtchi, let’s take a look at the challenger’s interesting game against another chess legend, former world champion Garry Kasparov.

This blitz game between Kasparov and Nepomniachtchi was played at the Grand Chess Tour Croatia 2021. Nepo offered a handshake at the beginning of the game, but Kasparov was too focused on the board to shake hands. Eventually, the Nimzo-Indian Defense was played and Nepo made Kasparov resign after 18 moves because of the latter’s blunder.
