Today I played my monthly training game against Jon, a patron in the Fischer tier. I have to say this was by far our most interesting game so far! We played a Modern Scandinavian in which everything revolved around the d5 break, whether white could play it or not, and if black was defending it enough.

The position was better for Jon (he was white), but it wasn’t so easy to build up the advantage, or to convert it into something palpable. In that locked stalemate position with d5 in its center, Jon went for a pawn sac, which was veeeery interesting.
