Ganguly Makes A Mesmerizing Queen Sacrifice

Here is a brilliant attacking game played by Indian GM Surya Ganguly vs Kazakhstani GM Anuar Ismagambetov! In Ruy Lopez Ganguly chooses an offbeat line, and soon when on move 9 Black makes an inaccuracy it becomes obvious that White’s choice was fully justified! With two pawn sacrifices White gains a space advantage, active piece play and organizes a powerful attack! With exchange sacrifice Ganguly removes Black’s dark squared bishop and starts to exploit the weaknesses of the dark squares! Finally on move 24 with a brilliant queen sacrifice Ganguly forces a resignation!
