Training Against Myself

As part off my homework for this week, my coach told me to play a long game against myself.

It felt weird having to do this, and I didn’t know how it will go, but I’m very happy with the results! I chose to play an opening I don’t know. I didn’t want to play main line theory, I just wanted to play chess. I went for the Queen’s Indian Defense.

I think it went ok in the opening. I didn’t make any serious mistakes. The middlegame was complex, and I went badly wrong… for both sides eventually.

Here is the game. Use the timings to switch between moves if you find my thinking boring.
