Featured in this video is the Round 4 game of the 2018 Candidates Chess Tournament between Vladimir Kramnik (white), and Fabiano Caruana (black). Not only is the game a race against the clock and meeting time controls but also a race to see who could successfully promote their passed pawn first. At one point all remaining 6 pawns become passed, stemming from the Petroff’s Defense (Russian Game), Cozio Attack. This event consists of 8 participants, namely Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (2809), Vladimir Kramnik (2800), Wesley So (2799), Levon Aronian (2794), Fabiano Caruana (2784), Ding Liren (2769), Alexander Grischuk (2767), and Sergey Karjakin (2763). This tournament is being held in Berlin, Germany. The winner becomes the challenger for the World Chess Championship title against Magnus Carlsen in November of 2018.
