What is the Key to the Lock? | Cool Chess Puzzle #21 (Frédéric Lazard)

I was first introduced to the featured problem around 2011. Without question it made a lasting impression on me. Whether you are chess beginner, chess Grandmaster, or anywhere in-between, I think all players can appreciate this memorable solution. The composition by W.E. Rudolph that is presented in this video was published in “La Stratégie”, 1912.

I’m a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8. The purpose of this channel is to share my knowledge of chess to help others improve their game. I enjoy continuing to improve my understanding of this great game, albeit slowly.
