The 10th Mikhail Tal Memorial will be played in the Museum of Russian Impressionism (Moscow), one of the leading private museums in Russia.
The tournament will be opened on September 25, 2016, and will become the sixth event of the Chess in Museums project.

The 10th edition of the Tal Memorial is taking place in the new Museum of Russian Impressionism in Moscow, Russia from 25 September to 6 October. The 10-player all-play-all tournament features a stellar line-up, including former World Champions Vladimir Kramnik and Vishy Anand. At stake is a $200,000 prize fund.

The drawing of lots and who gets more Whites than Blacks in the main event will be decided by the opening blitz tournament on Sunday 25 September. 9 rounds will be played at a time control of 3 minutes for all moves, with a 2-second increment from move 1
