French Defense, Winawer variation – Standard chess #34

I played a standard chess game as black with time controls set at 15 minutes with a 2 second increment. The opening played was the French Defense: Winawer Variation, Alekhine-Maroczy Gambit. The most popular reply to the Winawer variation of the French is to grab some space with e5. However the game is quick to take a U-turn as white offers up a pawn with 4. Ne2. The gambit however was not accepted, and instead a more modest approach resembling a French Rubinstein took shape.
