English Opening, Karpov System (Computer4-Impossible) – Standard chess #31

I played a standard chess game as black with time controls set at 15 minutes with a 5 second increment against Computer4-Impossible. The opening played was the English Opening, Karpov System. The engine’s play is anything but typical in this game, and I was already shocked as early as move 6. You won’t find many humans investing the most important minor piece in order to damage an opponent’s queenside structure. It’s always a tricky battle against the beast. One can be slightly better objectively, but converting it to the full point is always a tough task. One slip against the machine, and you can forget about winning.

I’m a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who learned how to play from my father in 1988 at the age of 8. The purpose of this channel is to share my knowledge of chess to help others improve their game. I enjoy continuing to improve my understanding of this great game, albeit slowly.
