Entombment | Cool Chess Puzzle #17 (Frédéric Lazard)

Expect the unexpected! This is one of the most startling puzzles I’ve ever seen, and requires both imagination and a deep understanding to unlock its secret. This one will likely have your favorite chess engine produce an incorrect evaluation! This composition was published in L’Italia Scacchistica, 1946. Quite the creative mind was Frédéric Lazard.

I’m a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who learned how to play from my father in 1988 at the age of 8. The purpose of this channel is to share my knowledge of chess to help others improve their game. I enjoy continuing to improve my understanding of this great game, albeit slowly.
