Perelshteyn – Krush features the King’s Indian Defense, Averbakh and Eugene’s favorite response 5…Na6. Beginners will enjoy Eugene’s positional evaluations, while advanced players will like his explanation of how he takes advantage on the king side (normally by deflecting the f3 knight to the central square d4 with exd4.) Eugene finds similar positions to the Sameish, but finds a way for Black to have several extra tempi in the Averbakh. An exciting opposite side castling situation occurs in the middle game but with an important distinction – Black has the slightly safer king, which gives Black the winning chances.
