This is game 11 from the 2014 World Chess Championship match between defending champion Magnus Carlsen of Norway, and challenger Viswanathan Anand of India. This world chess championship match (rematch), held in Sochi, Russia, is historic. It’s the first time that the same two opponents have met in consecutive World Chess Championship matches since Garry Kasparov and Anatoly Karpov from the 1980’s. The World Chess Championship 2014 between Carlsen and Anand is a best of 12-game match; the first player to earn 6.5 points will become the World Chess Champion. Magnus Carlsen has 5.5 points and Viswanathan Anand has 4.5 points going into game 11.
