The Scotch Gambit refutes 1…e5?

Roman looks at a number of Scotch Gambit lines with emphasis upon White maintaining an advantage in every possible line. The first example of the Scotch Gambit looks at White giving up the ‘Bishop Pair’ for ‘central compensation’ and ‘weak square compensation’, Roman explains he has chosen games which have the most typical themes.

Themes from the first example: ‘Dominating Bishop against opponent’s Bishop’ and ‘King Side Majority’ are examined then explained. The resulting attack of these positional assets are then shown when the student can easily synthesize the link between themes to the advantage to the winning attack.
