White opens with a very strange line against the Sicilian Defense with 2. Qe2!? – opting for a King’s Indian Attack type structure with a kingside fianchetto. I tried to attack on the kingside before white could achieve counterplay in the center and after 16. …f4 black had achieved a sizable initiative. White went wrong in the complications and allowed a decisive infiltration on the f-file by black’s heavy pieces.
