Featured is an aesthetic chess game between 15-year-old Susan Polgar and Peter Hardicsay from 1985. Against the Benoni Defense, Polgar answers Bg7 with a timely Qa4+. After Hardicsay counterpunches, Polgar exploits Black’s newly weakened b-pawn. Black seeks counterplay on the kingside and in the center, but his plan proves faulty. Polgar neutralizes the threats and then unleashes a forceful attack against the black king, finishing with a beautiful combination.
