Featured is an excellent chess game between reigning World Chess Champion Gukesh D and 14-year-old Turkish prodigy Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus from round 2 of the 2025 FIDE Grand Swiss. After a balanced positional opening and middlegame, the game quickly heads into an endgame by move 15, with Gukesh obtaining space on the kingside. Erdogmus’s plan beginning with 19…Kd7 concedes a structure more favorable to Gukesh, who exerts pressure against Erdogmus’s base point on e6. Despite the tough position, the rising star from Turkey showed remarkable resilience against the World Champion.
