This is an instructive chess game between Wesley So and Nodirbek Abdusattorov from the 9th and final round of the 2025 Sinquefield Cup. The opening is the Scotch Game, Scotch Gambit. After 22 moves, the position features a minor piece imbalance and pawn majorities. The highlight of the game is White’s knight on d3, a powerful outpost that gave Wesley excellent control. This domination even allowed a wonderful king walk to the queenside. With this victory, Wesley So secured the title of 2025 Sinquefield Cup Champion.
