This is an excellent blitz chess game between Magnus Carlsen and Hikaru Nakamura from the Late Titled Tuesday on August 12th, 2025. The opening is a Four Knights Game, with a minor piece imbalance arising as early as move 6. From a position where both players have castled queenside, the computer frequently recommends a d5-break for Nakamura, though he chooses a different plan. Carlsen’s knight maneuver to c3 is a very strong idea. When Nakamura later plays 25…Qf6, he loses a valuable tempo that allows Carlsen to quickly seize control.
