The Nakhmanson gambit is a very dangerous weapon for white in the Italian or the Scotch, depending on the move order. The idea behind it is to sacrifice two pieces for a swift attack and a massive initiative. It can be refuted with perfect play, but must know exactly what to do for several moves and a single mistake could be terminal.
