This is an instructive rapid chess game between Ding Liren and Zhao Yuanhe, played during the Chinese Rapid and Blitz Championship on July 13th, 2025. The game features the King’s Indian Defense, and by move 9, Ding already has the bishop pair and space on the queenside. Zhao trades his light-squared bishop for a knight, a rare idea in this opening. Ding never allows a good chance for the key …b5 break and maintains complete control throughout.
