This is a blitz chess game between Hikaru Nakamura and Hans Niemann from Round 7 of the Late Titled Tuesday held on July 8th, 2025. The game begins with the Trompowsky Attack and reaches a sharp middlegame after just 12 moves, featuring a minor piece imbalance, structural differences, and an extra pawn for White. By move 18, the position features two knights versus two bishops, with Nakamura maintaining control over several potential pawn breaks. After a couple of inaccuracies by Niemann, Nakamura quickly takes control and builds up an attack against the black king. Nakamuraβs win against Niemann, along with his subsequent victory in the event, set a new blitz rating record with an incredible 3416!
