Featured one of the most memorable chess encounters between Gukesh D and Magnus Carlsen from round 6 of Norway Chess 2025. Out of a Ruy Lopez, Berlin we have a strategic struggle with Carlsen in driver’s seat shortly after exchanging his bad but active dark-squared bishop for its counterpart. In a dire situation for much of the middlegame and endgame Gukesh kept fighting, kept focused, and that played its role in frustrating Carlsen into a memorable reaction in the end, banging his fist so hard on the table it knocked over his own king and beyond.
