Featured is Game 1 from FIDE Women’s World Chess Championship 2025 between defending champion Ju Wenjun and Tan Zhongyi. The opening played in an Open Sicilian with 2…e6. Time controls are 90 minutes with a 30-second increment throughout, and a 30-minute bonus once move 40 is reached. In this best of 12 games match, the games will be played in the hometowns of the players. Games 1 through 6 are set to take place in Shanghai, China which is Ju Wenjun’s hometown. Games 7 through 12 are set to take place in Chongqing, China which is Tan Zhongyi’s hometown.
