Judit Polgar’s Keres Attack freezes Anand

Featured is the chess game between Judit Polgar and Vishy Anand from Dos Hermanas 1999. Polgar’s sharp play with the Delayed Keres Attack against Anand’s Sicilian Scheveningen results in her being down both knights after only 13 moves. As compensation for the sacrificed material, Polgar has an invasive kingside pawn duo and a significant lead in development. Not long after, Anand brings the game into an opposite sides castles position where we can soon observe all of his pieces frozen and unable to play a productive role due to Polgar’s excellent piece activity.
