Featured is an instructive chess game between 15-year-old Vasyl Ivanchuk and Paul Hampton from the U16 Championship of 1984. In response to the Bogo-Indian Defense, Ivanchuk chooses the Grunfeld variation and soon acquires the bishop pair. Hampton tries to attack on the kingside by positioning his rook on h6. Ivanchuk’s play highlights the drawbacks of such a rook post.
