Why I don’t play the London System anymore · Road to 2500, Game 58

I promised not play the London in OTB chess at the beginning of this year. This game is a great reminder why.

Check out my new website https://hangingpawns.net/ It’s still a work in progress and any feedback is appreciated!

The London System is equal if Black knows their stuff. This game is a good example of just how easily Black can get a safe, playable position, with just as much active play as white. I was outplayed and managed to win because my opponent was in time trouble.

These are the stats after 58 games:
Starting rating: 2251
Current rating: 2287 (+36)
Current score: W 29, L 18, D 9, C 2
Days left: 403
Rating: 2287/2500

I’m on a quest to get to 2500 lichess rapid by the end of 2025! This playlist will show every game I play, regardless of how painful it was.
