Leading in ‘Time’ creates Morphy Masterpiece!
Jesse looks at a classic game which Jesse himself thinks is the best game of all time to introduce to the student concepts of ‘Time’, ‘Material’, and ‘Quality of position’ which he claims is The Kasparov Algorithm when they work together in harmony.
The players involved were Morphy versus The Duke. The theme of the game was Black giving up The 2 Bishops and also giving White a development ‘Time’ advantage. The fight in the middlegame involves White never looking to go backwards but always forwards to keep his ‘Time Advantage’ even if it means sacrificing a piece (which happens). Will Morphy make his Time advantage count being a piece down? – yes and in some style because White’s ‘Quality of Position’ is better than the material disadvantage.
