Total safety for Black versus 1.e4!
Roman tells us how to play with one safe black opening that will get the second player through the opening with safety – he excludes The Sicilian due to its sharpness, the French and Caro Kann due its passivity, however 1.e4 d6 2.Nf6 3.Nc3 e5 Roman says it’s super safe and he shows why.

Starting off with an endgame that Black can offer with 4.de5 de5 5.Qxd8 Kxd8 and Roman concludes this is equal even with 6.Bc4 Be6 7.Bxe6 fxe6 and the doubled Pawns are compensated by a good Bishop and good central control. Black’s middle-game plan of a6/b5 followed by effective measures in dealing with White’s doubling of d file pressure. This is ideal for all standards of player.
