In the video “Nimzowitsch’s My System Part 2″ by GM Roman Dzindzichashvili, he delves a bit deeper into the games of Aron Nimzowitsch.

Roman begins by talking about the isolated queen pawn structure and how it has some advantages and disadvantages for both the player who has the pawn and the player playing against the pawn. He also includes the ideas of Nimzowitsch and how the masters of his time evaluated the position.

In the second position, we are shown a backward pawn structure that Black has. While White’s knight looks optimally placed, we are taught that we need to put it on a different square in order to attack the pawn structure better.
