The Nimzo-Indian is a sharp defense with which black tries to attack using his quick development and the fact that white’s king is stuck in the center deep into the opening. This variation allows white to do the same thing – start attacking black. And it is precisely because black had already castled that it works and often produces sharp attacking positions.
