Samuel Shanklad played a Cuban GM in the Capablanca Memorial. He played the Advance variation against the Caro-Kann, and his opponent played the rare Botvinnik-Carls Defense with c5, instead of Bf5 on move 3.

Shankland chose a very aggressive plan against black’s defense and managed to get a very favorable position, despite having a few weaknesses himself.
