This Qd3 line against the French Defense is a unique opening that will completely catch your opponents off guard. It is offbeat and surprising, but also very solid and can give white incredible attacking chances on the black king. Many lines involving sacrificing a couple of pieces to reach brilliant checkmates. This can be played against the Winawer variation of the French which is one of black’s most common opening choices when playing the French. This is one of my favorite openings to surprise black and is certain to give you a perfect start to the game!
