In this video lesson, GM Igor Smirnov will share with you the 5 best chess opening traps in the Budapest Gambit, which arises after the following opening moves: 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e5.

After White accepts the gambit with 3.dxe5, Black can try the Fajarowicz variation 3…Ne4, which concentrates on the rapid development of pieces, but the most common move is 3…Ng4.

GM Igor Smirnov was sceptical about this opening initially; he thought it was just a tricky line hoping for some sudden traps, and that it was bad for Black. But after he investigated it a bit deeper, he understood that it is actually a lot better and has great attacking opportunities for Black.

He will also be sharing with you 2 unknown traps, which even stronger chess players fall for!
