Transpositions and why knowing setups is useful. · Training Game

My opponent played the Nimzo-Larsen attack and soon transposed into a QID in reverse.

Since I play the exact setup with black (a tempo down) I knew what he should be playing for and I seem to have known his strategic plans better than he did.

Knowing different openings and setups as well as understanding and recognizing transpositions is very useful, and it could save you a lot of time and also make plan creation miles simpler.
