Chigorin Defense against 3.Nf3

The Chigorin Defense forces white to play very precisely in order to prove that Nc6 is a dubious move. 3.Nf3, one of the main lines, is a very direct way of doing so. It plays against two main ideas of the opening, control of e5 and pressure on d4.

Of the four sensible options for white against the Chigorin, Nf3 is probably the trickiest for black to play against, as it provides white with excellent attacking chances, and sort of turns the tables on black, fighting him in his own game.
White will often end up with the two bishops and a slightly compromised pawn structure, with a lot of dynamic possibilities.
Black is not lost though, and with precise play can achieve interesting positions in which bith sides have chances.
