GM Maxime Vachier-Lagrave was facing off against GM Haik Martirosyan in the Speed Chess Grand Prix Knockout Semifinal Round. After Haik grabbed a win in Game 1, MVL needed a win to push the series to a bullet tiebreak game. It seemed like all hope was lost and the game would end in a draw. That’s when MVL reached into his bag of tricks and THIS happened.
