Today I played my monthly training game against Oisin, a patron in the Bobby Fischer tier. He is an extremely talented young player and he is already very good, despite having started chess only a few months ago!
Games against him are becoming harder and harder to play, and I feel his playing strength rising each month. His starting elo is over 1700, which is more than what I’d started with. That makes me proud!
In our games, I try to challenge him and put him out of his comfort zone as much as possible. The point is not for me to train, but to tra and find things in his games that have to be improved. I hope you like this format and that you too manage to learn from it.
I am not going to talk about what happened in the game so that I don’t spoil it.
