It’s time again to brush through some classics from the past – today we’re going to learn from one of the most impressive chess games ever. It’s the game between Vassily Ivanchuk and Garry Kasparov in the first round of the 9th Linares, where Ivanchuk simply crushed Kasparov with his brilliant play.

The legendary Kasparov got checkmated in 38 moves, as he couldn’t do much with his pieces being surrendered in the first rank. Ivanchuk gradually increased the pressure, using some key ideas, to make Kasparov suffocate. The 5 key ideas used by Ivanchuk are valid and will be useful to you even today!
