Featured is an opening disaster of a chess game between Nodirbek Yakubboev and Alexander Donchenko from the Quarterfinals of the 2025 FIDE World Cup. Out of an Anti-Grünfeld setup, we quickly reach a critical moment after Yakubboev’s 11. g4. Donchenko’s reply, while tempting and to a degree consistent, proves faulty. This early misjudgment leaves him fighting from behind for the rest of the game. Yakubboev remains in complete control and ultimately forces Donchenko’s resignation after 44 moves.
