Featured is the final chess game of the 2025 FIDE World Cup between Wei Yi and Javokhir Sindarov. Out of an Italian Game we observe a minor piece imbalance after 9 moves, with the evaluation remaining mostly level throughout. With both players under a minute by move 45, it was a tense time-scramble finish. After 56…Qxe7, Wei Yi is in an only-move situation to maintain equality, but he’s unable to find it. Sindarov capitalizes on the blunder and forces resignation after move 60. With this final match result, Javokhir Sindarov, at just 19 years old, becomes the youngest player ever to win the FIDE World Cup. This victory also secures his place in the 2026 Candidates Chess Tournament and earns him $120,000 for his remarkable performance.
